I'm very excited about this book !!!!!! When I first started reading this book I thought it might be YA but then I got to a sex scene and changed my mind. This is not your normal romance book it has a young love kind of feel to it. This was the first time for me to read any of Denise Grover Swank books but this won't be the last. The book is in first person of Scarlett a college math student that has a high social anxiety disorder. Scarlett is almost forced into tutoring Tucker Price the man whore of Southern University. Tucker at first raises Scarlett's anxiety but it's not long until that changes. Scarlett gets a glimpse of a very different Tucker then what he shows everyone else. She sees the sadness he hides from everyone else. It's not long and you can almost see the bond between them jumping off the pages. After Math had a different feel to it I think because of the setting and ages of the characters. Tucker is so sweet to Scarlett he knows what sets off her anxiety and does what he can to help her. The love scenes were sweet and gentle, really perfect for the feel of the book. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. A bad boy that is so much more than he shows the world how can you resist !

Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched.” Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn’t speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty—unprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions.

Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.

I wanted to cry within the first few chapters of reading the book. I believe that Eveline has the sweetest family I may have ever read before. The Mongomerys and Armstrongs have fought against each other for decades so long that no one even knows how it started. Graeme is forced by the King to marry Eveline hoping this will bring peace to the two strongest clans in the Kingdom. Eveline is scared for she has always believed that Graeme was a monster that would abuse her. When she sees him that changes for she was a feeling that he will be kind to her. Graeme has heard what they say about Eveline but begins to doubt what is said shortly after meeting her. Graemes clan is not nice to Eveline at all but she keeps trying to prove her worth to them. There were times I wanted to jump in the book and beat some of the women of the clan for the horrible things they did to her. She trust them and they abuse that trust and hurt her. Graeme tries to understand his clans concerns but the finally straw comes and he stands up to his clan. I think if I could fall in love with a character it happened then. I loved this book. I also liked that when a old emeny from Evelines past tries to set the clans against each other they both stop and think before charging into a war that will kill both clans. This is just a great book that I can see myself rereading in the future. One of the best books I've read.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is an introduction to the series, but does NOT have the Happily Ever After endings that will come in the next three romance novels in the series. Being the back-story that usually is not told in "real time," there are some intense themes in the book, including death of a spouse, incest, torture, a battle scene, and amputation.

This is another lovely lady I meet last month. This is a prequel to the series in which you meet Adam, Damian, Marc, Karla, and Savannah for the first time. I liked getting to read the back story because it's not something you get often when reading. Adam had me wanting to read more about Karla and him from the beginning. Adam is older than the normal men you read about but he was no less strong and sexy. Damian and Savannah are so sweet together you just can't wait to read more of their story. Adam, Damian, and Marc meet in the war and forge a bond nothing can break. This book is a must to read if you want to read the rest of the series because it sets up everything else to come and it's FREE on Amazon.
Jillian Burns was a joy to meet and very nice lady. This is another author I've never read before but so glad I found. Claire is not the kind of woman you get used to reading about in romance books, she is shy and nerdy dressed in baggy clothes but under is a beauty that Rafe has no problem seeing. Rafe tries his best not to be pulled into Clarie's trouble but he can't help but be her knight coming to her rescue. Claire just wants to find her friend and won't stop until she does. Rafe is street tough but likes the way Claire makes him feel. The emotion between Rafe and Claire was so strong it jumped from the pages. I was worried a couple times that about them getting their HEA but they did. This book keeps you on edge wondering what has happened to Julia (Claire's friend). I didn't want to put the book down between the mystery and the chemistry the book has it all. If you like some mystery with your romance than you have to get this book. Mystery, romance and steamy love scenes what more could you ask for.....Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-90212516065096047412013-04-18T00:00:00.000-07:002013-04-18T00:00:18.280-07:00Texas Haven (Dawson Ranch) by Kathleen Ball

Although Burke is big, strong, and not seemingly gentle, Annie feels drawn to the handsome Texas cowboy. Upon discovering Burke’s advertisement for a wife, Annie shyly asks if he might consider her. Burke Dawson wants children; unfortunately, that also includes a wife. His first wife was a citified hellcat who stole half of his ranch. Now Burke’s determined to find an honest country girl with no expectations of love. Misunderstandings, accidents, and treachery leads to Annie leaving shattered and alone. Can their shaking start lead to the possible loving relationship they both desire but neither is sure of?

Kathleen Ball was another lovely lady I got to meet and being from Texas I do love a good Cowboy romance. First time to read any of her books and boy am I glad I picked up her book. This book was full of emotion. I couldn't help but to feel bad for poor Annie that just wanted some love and affection. I couldn't image living a life without either but that is what she survives. Annie makes it impossible for you not to root for her. Burke is a good ole cowboy that is Texas tough and caring. He's been hurt but tries to be soft with Annie. Burke and Annie were a joy to read about and I didn't want to stop. When Annie cries you feel close to tears yourself. I wanted to hit Burke upside his head at times. Most books I would be yelling at the book when a main character was so blind to what was right in front of his face but something about Burke kept me from doing that. After many ups and down Burke finally sees the light and gets his act together. I loved reading how Annie went for shy and bullied to strong. Also adored reading her take in so many strays and help anyone she could. I have to say Cowboy romance isn't something I read alot of but I'll have to change that after reading this book. Texas Haven isn't a very long book it's under two hundred pages but that doesn't affect the book at all. This was a great start to a series and can't wait to get my hands on the next book. And Aileanna must decide if she can trust her secrets to this fierce warrior who needs her talent, but wants her love.

I had the pleasure to meet Willa Blair several weeks ago. Willa Blair is one of many authors I got to meet that I will be reading and reviewing. Aileanna Shaw is a healer forced for the pasted two years to follow Colbridge. Toran Lathan is taken to her tent to be healed after being captured in a battle. When a chance to escape comes Toran takes Aileanna to his Aerie in the mountain's. Aileanna has a hard time trusting what Toran says after being around Colbridge for so long. I really liked this book and can't wait to read more in the series. Toran was the kind of alpha male any woman loves to read about. He was strong and tough but caring with his people and Aileanna. Aileanna had me almost in tears at one very emotional part in the book. If you like historical books or Highlander books then you will love this book. Highland Healer was a great start to what I'm sure is going to be a brilliant series.

This was another great book in the KGI series. I haven't read many Maya Banks books but after enjoying the book in this series I will have to get more of her books. I loved Sam in the first book and was excited to read more about him and the Kelly family. Sam and his brothers are the alpha males I love to read about very take charge and protective. Sophie was sweet but a bit of a mystery for Sam and the other Kelly brothers to figure out before the danger stalking her springs it's trap. There is so much going on in this book danger following Sophie, Sam finding out he's going to be a father as he protects Sophie, dealing with the attraction sizzling between them and a potential family crisis.
Miranda Wentworth never imagined becoming a mail-order bride. Now marriage to a stranger is her only hope of finding a home where she and her two younger brothers can escape the brutality of the Chicago orphanage where they live. With any luck, she can even start a family of her own, once the three of them are settled at Jacob Creed’s Texas ranch. But Miranda has one gigantic concern: Her husband-to-be knows nothing about the brothers she’s bringing along. What if he calls off the deal when he discovers the trick she’s played on him?

Jake Creed is hanging on to his Texas ranch by his fingernails. The advertisement Jake wrote never mentioned his daughter—or the fact that he has no intention of consummating his marriage. He’s determined never to subject another wife to the burden of pregnancy. But Jake doesn’t count on finding his bride so desirable. He doesn’t count on aching with need when she joins him in bed. And he never suspected his bride would have plans of her own to seduce him.

I love reading historical romances and Joan Johnston knows how to write them. This is the beginning to a new series. The series is about the Wentworth siblings and opens with them trying to figure out a way to get out of the evil orphanage they are placed in. When Josie (Miranda's youngest sister) comes up with a plan. Jake and Miranda are two characters you feel sorry for but for very different reasons. Miranda is a shy young lady and I enjoyed reading as she grow strong. Jake is scared to love after the death of his wife but soon can't help wanting the shy beauty. Jakes little girl Anna Mae is a doll and you love her for the start and so is Miranda's youngest brother Harry. Nick (Miranda's oldest brother) is sweet even if he was a chip on his shoulder when it comes to Jake. Alexander Blackthorne (Jake's step-father) I liked at first and hoped by the end of the book that Jake and Alexander would come to at least like each other. I soon found out why Jake hated Alexander and I came to feel the same way. If I say why it would be a spoiler so I will just say it's a big shock and changed how I saw Alexander. This twist is a good one but by the end of the book it's still a secret and I didn't like that. I don't like unfinsihed plot lines and that's what this is and I don't see it coming up later in the series. This is my only problem with the book. The journey from strangers to family is a joy to read. If you like historical romances then this is a great book to read.

Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-3863139608923506822013-02-10T00:00:00.000-08:002013-02-10T00:00:12.897-08:00The Darkest Hour (KGI #1) by Maya Banks

I can't say enough how much I LOVED this book !!!! I started reading this book when I should have been resting for work the next day. I only got three hours of sleep cause I couldn't put this book down. I love so much about this book from Ethan and his brothers to the sub plot with his parents and a teenage girl. Rachel is the kind of character I had wanted to read about in a book a woman that was broken and scared out of her mind but gets stronger as the book develops along. Rachel tugs at your heart strings and your cheering for her as she gets stronger. Ethan is a good man that's devastated when he finds out what his wife went through. Plus you have the mystery of why Rachel's death was faked and the new member of the family cause's some waves without meaning to. I liked at the end of the book Rachel wasn't good as new she was much better than she started but she still had a long way to go. It was a pleasure to read about Ethan and Rachel's journey and a great beginning to a series. If you like when a man and his family fight for one of there own then this is your book, promise you won't be sorry for giving it a chance. Lucy Monroe did a excellent job of connecting these stories. It's not often that three short stories relate to each other but this is one of the rare times it does. Every character is well developed and very likable. I can't say much more without giving anything away and since I don't do spoilers. I'll just say that if you like to read about men that won't take no for a answer when it comes to his woman than you'll love this book. Torn between the love he has-and the love he's always wanted. A Rough Riders book. Chassie West Glanzer hasn't been a stranger to drama and tragedy. A year of wedded bliss to sexy-as-sin cowboy Trevor Glanzer has brought her the happiness and contentment she never thought she'd find, and mellowed Trevor's rodeo wanderlust. Then Trevors old roping partner ambles up the driveway and Chassie's life changes drastically. Trevor never expected to see Edgard Mancuso again, after it became clear he couldn't be the man Edgard needed. Now Edgard is back from Brazil to sort out their tangled past, and Trevor is plagued with feelings he thought he'd buried over three years ago. Although Trevor is hat-over-bootheels in love with his sweet, feisty wife, the sense his life is missing a piece has always gnawed at him. Chassie's shock that Edgard and Trevor were once lovers turns to fear of losing her husband. Or worse, fear that Trevor will stay with her only out of a sense of duty. Yet as the three of them spend time together, the sins of the past blur and fade, leaving raw emotion and unbridled passion. Passion that could heal-or cause irreparable damage to their future. Warning: this book contains unbelievably explicit sex, including multiple cowboy/cowgirl/cowboy menage scenes, juicy, hot, male on male action, a bucketful of politically incorrect situations and true Western ideology.

If I hadn't read about Trevor and Edgard in the first book of the series then maybe I would have felt a little different than I do. I feel the real love story was between Trevor and Edgard with Chassie has a second love in Trevor's life at some points it was hard for me to believe that Trevor felt so strong for Chassie it didn't feel has strong as what he feels for Edgard. I also thought that the love story between Chassie and Edgard was very underdeveloped. I felt a connection between the two just not very strong. I still feel with that being said that it was a good book and a fun, sexy read and as in all the books there's hot sex and steamy touches.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-18734146420908544472012-07-17T00:00:00.000-07:002012-07-17T00:00:05.580-07:00

Goody-two boots AJ Foster has waited her entire life for her dream cowboy Cord McKay to see her as more than the neighbor girl in pigtails.

I love a good story about when a good girl goes bad to get the man she wants. When Cord sees AJ in a bar and realizes that the little girl has grown up he wants her. After AJ makes a offer Cord can't refuse he sets out to show her every kinky thing he knows about sex and how to ride a cowboy. This is another great addition to the Rough Riders series.

My only complaint about this book is the describes of the book. This book is more about Macie and Carter with Gemma and Cash as a side story. I was so happy that Cash and Gemma got together after reading about them in the first book. Cash is a retired rodeo cowboy that knows he wants Gemma and finally has the chance to get her when she comes looking for him needing his help. Carter meets Macie at a rodeo then again when she goes with her father Cash to Gemma's ranch. Carter may be a artist but when he sees Macie he's all Mckay about getting what he wants. Carter messes up in a major way but with a little help from his brothers he sets out to get back what he lost.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-31031455160223073322012-07-11T00:00:00.000-07:002012-07-11T00:00:02.758-07:00

I'll do this review a bit different then the others. I'm going to give a short description of the story then the review. I really dislike when I'm trying to decide if I should get a book and there's no description on the back.
Upon A Midnight Clear Virginia Kantra book description- A angel comes to answer a mothers prayers who is about to die and the wish changes the angels life forever when they meet again years later.
Aimee is a very sympathetic character and you feel for her and the life she's had to lead. Lucien I wasn't sure about until the end of the book when you realize just how great of a character he is.
First Light Kimberly Frost book description- This is the begining of a new series. Kate meets the man she's had dreams of for years for the first time. Nathaniel has lost his memories and is not sure of anything other than he wants Kate but there is a battle with a great evil to come.

review- I loved this story and can't wait for the next book in this new series. I loved everything about the book and the world described in this series.

Human Error Eileen Wilks book description- Arjenie takes Bendict home to meet her family where they have trouble ....

review- I could have liked this book but I had several issues with it. First the this book is 8.5 inthe series and the author acts like everyone has read the series so she doesn't give info about what has happened in the past or what somethings mean. Example they mention a Humans First rally but never really explain what this is. I'm trying to find Arjenie and Bendicts story but it's not easy becuase the series is based on two other characters with noveals of other characters. I have lots of problems with this story and with this being the first time I read this author and series and I'm throw into the middle of it.

An Inconvient Mate Lora Leigh book description- This is the story of Malachi and when he finds his mate Isabelle and the problem with her stalker.

review- This is the story I got the book for and wasn't dispoointed at all. I love the Breed series and this was just another great addition. The book ends with some questions of survial for some Breeds.

My overall review is I loved three out of four stories and the other I thought was ok becuase of all the info that was missing.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-51752197765049083012012-01-20T10:25:00.000-08:002012-01-20T10:25:05.674-08:00A Highlander Christmasby Dawn Halliday, Cindy Miles, Sophie Renwick (Goodreads Author)

An enchanting trio of paranormal Christmas stories:
Dawn Halliday's Winter Heat...Lost in a blizzard, a young woman casts a spell over the brooding Highland warrior who rescues her.

Cindy Miles's A Christmas Spirit...A museum curator's tour of a Scottish castle leads to an unexpected encounter with a dead-sexy spirit.

Sophie Renwick's Yuletide Enchantment...Passion blooms between an anxious bride-to-be and a dark, sensual stranger from another world.

Winter Heat review- This story wasn't really a paranormal story it was just a Christmas romance with a twist. The paranormal aspect of this story felt like it was throw in at the end almost like the author remembered at the end that it was supposed to be a paranormal story. Having said that I liked this story it was sweet and but don't feel like it's a story that is very memorable. I did like the story enough that I will look up this author and read other books.

Christmas Spirit review- I really liked this story Paige was a very likable character and Gabriel was the kind of Highland hunk I love to read about. I found that I couldn't wait until the end to see how these two would be able to be together. Lots of couple have problems but being a spirit is a huge problem. These two couldn't touch but they end up falling in love. I will most definitely get other books by this author.

Yuletide Enchantment- This was my favorite of the three. This is the beginning of the series and I'm trying to get the others now. The connection between Prince Daegan and Isobel McDonald was jumping off the page as I read. I could feel the love and devotion Prince Daegan felt for Isobel in the way he protected her as the years went by. Isobel is a sweet and caring young woman that is easy as a reader to care about. My only complaint would be that the book ended to soon I could have read their story for another hundred pages or more.

This was the first time I read a story by each of these authors and I liked them all. I would recommend this book to anyone with a love of paranormal romance.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-71653569196626249742012-01-15T00:00:00.000-08:002012-01-15T00:00:01.430-08:00A Winter Scandal (St. Dwynwen #1) by Candace Camp (Goodreads Author)

When plain and proper Thea Bainbridge stumbles upon a baby in the manger of her church’s nativity, she is understandably shocked. Discovering a brooch bearing the insignia of Gabriel, Lord Morecombe, hidden among the child’s clothing, she is certain the dissolute rake is to blame. Incensed, Thea sets out to reproach the arrogant lord—only to find herself utterly swept away.

Gabriel is intrigued by the vivacity in Thea’s flashing gray eyes when she accuses him of fathering the orphan, even as he adamantly maintains his innocence. The brooch is one he remembers all too well, however, and Gabriel is determined to find the mother of the missing child. As the mystery around the baby deepens, Gabriel is continually thrown together with Thea—and finds himself growing more entranced every day.

Even with whispers of winter scandal swirling around them, they cannot deny the longing in their hearts. A longing which promises the best gift of all: a shelter from the storm . . . in each other’s arms.

First I must say I love this book cover with the deep red gown on the cover. I really liked this book and really liked Gabriel and Thea. Gabriel Morecombe at first look is the typical rake but when Thea shows up with a baby and his sisters brooch you realize there's more to him. I loved the scenes with Thea, Gabriel, and the baby. Reading as Gabriel and Thea fall for each other is a beautiful thing to read. I really felt like I got to know both Gabriel and Thea very well. The mystery of the baby and the brooch kept me guessing as the book went on. I liked how the attraction between Gabriel and Thea developed. Thea was reserved without being cold which doesn't often happen. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves historical romances with a touch of mystery.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-65919303358658469402012-01-13T00:00:00.000-08:002012-01-13T00:00:02.686-08:00A Season of Angels (Angels Everywhere #1) by Debbie Macomber
When three willing but wacky angels — called Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy — are giving Christmas prayer request to answer, there's just one catch: each angel must teach her charge a memorable lesson before the wish can be granted.

I had high hopes for this book but I was let down. All the stories were mixed together and I didn't like this. I would get in the middle of a story and it would switich to a different one. I found this hard to really feel invested in each person and angels. The angels seemed more interested with TV's, Navy ships, and things of this nature than they did of helping make the prayers come true. I keeped having to refer to the back to remember what angel went with each women. I felt a huge disconnect with this book and the characters in it. I normally love Debbie Macomber books but I found this one to be ok at best.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-12692333922413183782012-01-11T00:00:00.000-08:002012-01-11T00:00:00.868-08:00I'll Be Yours for Christmas (Harlequin Blaze, #584) by Samantha Hunter
From the time they were kids and neighbors, Reece Winston tugged Abby Harper's pigtails and tormented her. But when Abby—now the sole owner of her parents' vineyard—sees Reece Winston again after years apart, she's unexpectedly struck by the need to play a much more adult kind of game….
Then a freak accident forces her to stay with Reece, and Abby decides that what she really wants for Christmas is Reece—perhaps wrapped with a red bow. But as Abby and Reece explore their naughty lists, they begin to realize that nothing is quite as easy as it seems!

This is a short read but very much worth your time ! I loved both Reece and Abby and found myself hoping they found a way to be together and without losing their dreams. I think this book is about the power of compromise and taking a chance. I've never read a Samantha Hunter book but I will be reading more from her in the future !! I highly recommend you pick it up.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-74807695478649551742012-01-09T00:00:00.000-08:002012-01-09T00:00:09.118-08:00A Christmas Waltz (Christmas #3) by Jane Goodger (Goodreads Author)
To Lady Amelia Wellesley, it seems utterly romantic to surprise her dashing fiancé at his home in Texas so the two can marry by Christmas. With nowhere to turn, Amelia finds an unlikely savior in Carson’s brother, Dr. Boone Kitteridge. Boone offers to marry Amelia, sparing her the shame of returning to England unwed.

I can't say I liked this book it was alright. I've read all three in this series and not sure if it's the books or the authors style of writing I don't like. I'll start with Amelia this is where my problems are. Just to start you don't travel half way around the world when your "fiance" hasn't sent for you. When she gets to Texas and finds that everything Carson said was a lie she still believes that he's the man that he pretends to be. Amelia admits that she know he lied about most of the stuff he said in London yet that doesn't set off warning bells in her head. She believes the new lies which just makes her look very dumb. Carson has a moment of goodness when he comes into Amelia's room and tells her about Boone's past and that he was leaving that was a touching moment. When Amelia wakes up she completely seems to forget that he said he was leaving and is surprised by the news. When Boone and Amelia go back to London they go to a ball. Boone tells her he is very nervous and when they attend the ball Amelia spends no time with Boone where she should be. Amelia spends the whole night dancing with other men she doesn't seem to care about anyone but herself most of the time. Boone really needed her and all she thought about was herself. I didn't really like Amelia but I did like Boone very much. Boone had less experence than she did when it came to sex and Amelia was his first kiss this is different from any book I've read and it just made to like Boone even more. Boone had a horrible childhood which explanes alot about why he puts up with Carson.Trishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08289166086565316896noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7353147330730462350.post-1062377075675054582012-01-07T00:00:00.000-08:002012-01-07T00:00:08.395-08:00A Vampire for Christmas (Sweetblood #2.5) by Laurie London (Goodreads Author), Michele Hauf (Goodreads Author), Caridad Piñeiro (Goodreads Author), Alexis Morgan
I don't normally do this but I'll give a short summary of what each story is about sense it's not on the back cover and at the end will be my review.
